Designing the Digital Front Door for India's Construction Contractors
iBricks is a SaaS platform built for India’s construction contractors, bringing AI-assisted tendering, multi-state project tracking, workforce management, and billing & estimation tools together under one roof. The platform already serves over 1,000 contractors, helping them win more tenders with AI, manage multi-state projects remotely, and keep billing and estimation accurate without manual calculation.
Key Business Objectives
⏵ Reposition iBricks from a single-purpose billing and estimation app into a full “operating system” for contractors.
⏵ Communicate the lifetime-access, no-subscription pricing model clearly to a value-conscious trade audience.
⏵ Serve both solo contractors and growing firms coordinating teams across multiple states.
⏵ Establish one consistent, scalable visual system that a development team could implement page by page.
The Context
Business Challenges
Communicating a major repositioning — from billing tool to AI operating system — without confusing existing users

Differentiating an unusual pricing model (lifetime access, zero subscription) in a market trained to expect recurring SaaS billing.

Designing for a primarily mobile-first contractor audience while still serving desktop-based decision-makers and office staff.

Supporting a large page surface area — around 40 pages — without the visual system fragmenting page to page
Design Challenges
Producing a fully responsive design system across desktop, tablet, and mobile for every page, not just the homepage.

Keeping components and visual language consistent across ~40 page designs to keep the eventual build efficient.

Retouching and standardising a large volume of photography and UI imagery to one consistent visual quality bar.

Preparing handoff-ready files for a separate development team, since the build itself sat outside this engagement
Solution & Design Approach
Design Philosophy
The visual direction needed to sit between two worlds: the grounded, practical trust of construction, and the confident, modern credibility of an AI product. The result leans on a deep charcoal-navy base for structure and trust, with a warm brick-orange accent — a deliberate nod to the iBricks name — reserved for calls to action and feature highlights, so the design reads as premium and decisive rather than generic SaaS.
Design Process & Tools
The entire engagement was delivered natively in Figma, with no code written as part of this scope. A component-driven design system with shared libraries, used consistently across every page. Figma Auto Layout used throughout so components adapt cleanly across breakpoints rather than being redrawn for each device. Interactive prototypes built for internal stakeholder review and sign-off ahead of handoff.
Key UX Decisions
Mobile-first layouts throughout, reflecting how site-based contractors actually access the platform. Modular “Explore Feature” blocks for each capability — workforce tracking, AI tendering, multi-site management — so the homepage stays scannable while each feature still gets a full page. A dedicated Support page combining self-serve FAQs with direct WhatsApp and email contact, matching how Indian B2B audiences expect to reach a vendor.
